Swansea City fullback Dwight Tiendalli has hit out at the way he was treated in Holland.

Tiendalli was released by FC Twente last year, but has since revived his career at the Liberty and won a place in the Holland squad.

"When I came to Swansea I was unknown," Tiendalli told Voetbal International. "The people wondered: Who is this Dwight? But I could start with a clean slate.

"I was on trial and told: you're as good as your last game.

"In the Netherlands you soon get branded and can't shake it."
