Swansea fullback Taylor: Rodgers demands the best from his players

Neil Taylor says Swansea City's success is down to the demands from manager Brendan Rodgers.

Neil Taylor says Swansea City's success is down to the demands from manager Brendan Rodgers.

Taylor, 23, reckons boss Rodgers' radical approach to personal responsibility and maturity is paying off.

He told The Sun: "Brendan knows we are grown men even though we have quite a young squad.

"He trusts us and that is a key thing. He believes in his players and is prepared to give us a bit of leeway.

"Before big games he reminds us we are playing not just for Swansea but that we are playing for those closest to us — our wives and kids.

"It's a great approach and he's the best manager I have ever worked for. If you step out of line badly, of course he will come down on you and punish you. But sometimes giving players the job of being adults can work."
