Swansea City fullback Neil Taylor put his hands up for the error which led to Everton's victory in yesterday's FA Cup defeat.
Steven Naismith came on just after the hour-mark and put the hosts 2-1 up, capitalising on a mistake from Taylor, before winning the penalty from which Leighton Baines sealed the win.
Taylor said: "It was my mistake and I'll take the blame for the loss.
"If I was playing for another team I'd probably just put the ball out of play, that would be it and we'd take a throw in. But we tried to keep the ball, that's what we do day in day out.
"It's just one of those things. It's disappointing to happen but when we make mistakes it can lead to a goal and, in fairness, he finished it well."
