Swansea City fullback Ben Davies admits he favoured rugby over football growing up.
For many years, Davies - who has been an ever-present for the Swans since replacing broken-ankle victim Neil Taylor in September - thought his international chance might come in rugby.
He said: "I enjoyed playing rugby as much as football. We even got to the Welsh schools' final. But at 16 I had to decide what I really wanted to do. I chose football and it has worked out well.
"Had the football not worked out, I'd have given rugby a go. I went to the opening game at the Millennium Stadium - Wales v South Africa. It was a great day."
