Davies fears he has missed out on learning how to stop Bale - because the Tottenham ace sat out most of the last week's training with Wales.
He said: "I've felt since I first got the chance to play this season that I wanted to test myself against the best.
"And in my opinion Gareth is the very best.
"Did I get any pointers this week?
"Well he has been ill and he didn't train too much so I didn't get much of a chance to see him.
"I'm looking forward to it and I certainly won't be fazed by it.
"We'll do our best to keep him quiet but everybody can see he is a top, top player.
"But you have to approach it in the same way as every other match, play your normal game and then see what happens."
