Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed they're due a bonus from Wigan Athletic after the Latics avoided relegation.
Jenkins was shrewd enough to have a clause inserted into manager Roberto Martinez's contract that means a sizeable cheque will be winging its way to South Wales as a result of Latics avoiding the dreaded drop.
"There is definitely money due to us as a result of Wigan staying up, and we are very pleased and grateful they did stay up," Jenkins told the Wigan Evening Post.
"I don't want to go into details but we're talking about a figure of over £1million, and that's big money for a club like us.
"Although it did go quite close, I was always sure Roberto and Wigan would do it.
"And I'm very pleased about the way it turned out for both clubs."
