Swansea draw took a lot out of us - Chelsea keeper Begovic

Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic admits it took a lot of effort from the Blues players to secure a draw against Swansea City.

The reigning champions had to play more than 35 minutes of their game against Swansea with 10 men following Thibaut Courtois's dismissal in the eventual 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in Saturday's season opener.

Begovic told the club's official website: "A couple of chances could have gone differently, (Lukasz) Fabianski made a good save from (Eden) Hazard.

"We wanted to get the three points going into the game. Ultimately we got one due to circumstances and we move on to next week.

"We'll see what the result means as the season goes on but we tried our best. Obviously Swansea played well and are a good side, so it took a lot out of us to take the point.'"

Another stern test awaits Chelsea as they travel to Manchester City on Sunday.
