Swansea defender Williams feels Premier League class

Swansea City defender Ashley Williams says he hasn't felt out of his depth in the Premier League.

Williams was outstanding in Swansea's 0-0 draw with Sunderland last weekend and the stand-in captain says he is enjoying life in the top flight.

"It's going to be a tough period but this is exactly what I wanted," said the 27-year-old, who hasn't missed a league game since August 2009.

"I remember in days gone by I would have had three games and it would have been Macclesfield, Aldershot and Accrington.

"So to play Montenegro, England and Arsenal is what it's all about.

"Playing international football has served me well now I have made the step up to the Premier League.

"The Premier League is a bit faster but I have played against some top strikers at international level.

"It gave me a bit more confidence going into these games.

"I feel like I am a Premier League player, it's given me a lot of confidence because in the last three games I haven't felt out of my depth."
