Swansea confident of finding new boss soon

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins is confident the club will find Brendan Rodgers' replacement soon.

The Swans lost the Northern Irishman to the Liverpool post last week but Jenkins is supremely confident that they will find the right man in their shortlist to take the club forward.

"Somebody told me that the average time we have taken to appoint a new manager in the past has been between 12 and 15 days," said Jenkins.

"If we say we will try to do our best to get things sorted out this time within our average time period, hopefully we will not be too far off.

"I think certainly by the end of next week we will be a lot clearer on the situation. That's important, because the sooner we get things nailed down the better.

"Once the new manager is in place, we can start stepping up our preparations for next season.

"That's something we want to focus on, of course."

Swansea are being linked with Blackpool's Ian Holloway, Danish great Michael Laudrup, and Brighton & Hove Albion's Gus Poyet.
