Swansea chairman Jenkins slams Premier League standards

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has slammed the standard of the Premier League.

Michael Laudrup's men could finish eighth in only their second top-flight season since gaining promotion if they beat Fulham on Sunday and West Brom fail to win against champions Manchester United.

But Jenkins said: "Far too much money is being spent on average footballers and the general standard of tactical awareness in the Premier League is very low indeed.

"Many games in the Premier League these days are played off the cuff with none or very little tactical preparation at all from either managers or coaches. "
