Swansea chairman Jenkins reveals Laudrup contract talks underway

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has revealed new contract talks with manager Michael Laudrup have kicked off.

Jenkins claims there is a "willingness" from the 48-year-old to commit to an extension that would grant the club greater financial security.

Jenkins said: "When we do well there is always going to be interest, whether that is in players or managers. We are learning to accept that.

"Michael himself has said publicly that even if you have a five-year deal or a 10-year deal, it doesn't necessarily change much.

"But there is the security aspect. After next season his contract runs out so we would like some security. He has indicated that he wants to be here next season. It was a big thing for him to get the cup final out of the way, but there is a willingness (to extend)."
