Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins is delighted with manager Brendan Rodgers' new contract.

Rodgers has committed his long-term future to Swansea by signing a new three-and-a-half year deal with the south Wales club.

Jenkins said: "We are under no illusions about the fact that we have got one of the best young managers around working for our club.

"Brendan has shown what he is capable of over the last couple of seasons and what he has done for us has been very pleasing.

"He is very important to us and that's not going to change, so it was very, very important to get the contract sorted out."
