Ben Davies has hailed the leadership qualities of Swansea City captain Ashley Williams.

Tottenham fullback Davies played alongside Williams during his days with Swansea City.

The 22-year old said: "I think he's just a proper leader. Watching the game against Manchester United, Ash always seems to be in the right place at the right time. It gives you a massive boost to know someone as solid as that is playing alongside you, someone who can pick you up when things aren't going well.

"It was massive having someone like Ash next to me. He's probably the best leader I've played with. He doesn't just focus on his own game, although he always seems to play well, he's always in your ear, giving you advice and telling you where to be.

"Sometimes as a young player the occasions can get to you, but he made sure my focus was totally on the game, regardless of who we were playing. He was a great, great help for me."
