Swansea boss Rodgers says Nathan Dyer showing England form

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers feels winger Nathan Dyer is showing England form.

The 5ft 5ins right winger was at his mazy best against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, delivering a man-of-the-match performance as Swansea won 3-1.

"I think he has been excellent in a lot of the games," Rodgers said. "Any opponents will find him very difficult to deal with him. We have seen him do that to many full-backs. He is a terrific talent.

"Our mentality is to create and be on the front foot. We open up the pitch, get good width and our game is to get the ball into wide areas and we know when we get there we have the players to make a difference. I thought Nathan was brilliant at that. He gets after people."

Asked if he thought an elevation to international level was a possibility for Dyer, Rodgers added: "Look at the reality, Matt Jarvis (the Wolves winger) was called in. If you're looking at wingers who can play football then the international managers will come here and see that there are players who have stepped into this level and are playing very well. But there's a way to go yet.

"The boys have got great talents and if they continue to prove what they have been proving up until now then they have every chance."
