Swansea City are willing to make Gylfi Sigurdsson their most expensive ever signing in a £7 million deal for Hoffenheim.

The Sun on Sunday says Swans boss Brendan Rodgers identified the Iceland midfielder, 22, as his No 1 summer target following his loan spell from Hoffenheim last season.

Sigurdsson hit seven goals in just 19 top-flight games after arriving at the Liberty Stadium in January.

Now the Welsh side are ready to double their club record signing, having spent £3.5m on striker Danny Graham a year ago, with the fee already agreed.
