Swansea boss Rodgers delighted with Tottenham defender Caulker in Sunderland stalemate

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted with on-loan Tottenham defender Steve Caulker for their 0-0 draw with Sunderland.

For all the chances Swansea had, they were again grateful to goalkeeper Michel Vorm, who already appears to be shaping up to be one of the bargains of the season following his arrival from FC Utrecht in a £1.5million deal.

The Dutchman made two sharp saves to deny Asamoah Gyan and also made a tackle on the striker worthy of most defenders after a Steven Caulker back pass had sold him short.

"I thought Steven Caulker and Ashley Williams were outstanding," he said. "It's a funny one with Michel because we had chances to win, but he was man of the match, I think they love to give him man of the match!

"He made a couple of good saves, he is lightning fast and he is perfect for us. His personality fits well into how we function."
