Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers says Scott Sinclair deserves his England U21 call.
Rodgers nurtured Sinclair during his days as a youth and reserve boss at Chelsea.
And Rodgers, who brought the wideman to the Liberty Stadium for £500,000 in August, believes the only way is up for Sinclair.
Rodgers said: "Scott is a big talent and he has all the attributes to play at the highest level. I know that's where he wants to be but it's an outstanding achievement.
"I've known Scott since he was 16. Back then, he was an innocent young boy who came to the bright lights of London. He enjoyed that and working with him again has been great.
"He has matured but there is plenty more to come from him. He has the potential and ability to play in the full England team one day. That will come later in his career but he's on the right pathway."
