Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers is key to them landing Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna.

Senna is off contract and open to moving to the Premier League new boys.

Senna's agent Eli Coimbra said: "He phoned Brendan Rodgers, who speaks perfect Spanish, and he told Marcos that Swansea wanted him."

Midfield legend Senna, 34, won Euro 2008 with Spain.
