Swansea boss Paul Clement reveals crunch talks with 'individual players'

Swansea City boss Paul Clement admits holding crunch talks with his players after defeat to West Ham.

Clement has picked his moment, both with the whole squad and selected individuals, to demand far better when they travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford on Saturday.

“I have had some good discussions with the group as well as one to ones about some players who particularly underperformed and understanding why that is," he said.

“It was a really frustrating afternoon, it was nowhere near the level of what we are capable of and I have to demand and expect better.

“Since I have been here I have tried to use the right tone and right message at the right moment, be that a strong word or a softer approach.

“That is my job, to use all the tools available to me. They understand what is at stake, I am not sure a rollicking from me would change that.

“But the players know we have to be better than that, and we have reminded them they are capable of a lot better than that.

“You look at some of the results and performances we have had, like winning at Anfield, that was a long way off that level."
