Swansea boss Monk will embrace Europa League

Swansea City boss Garry Monk insists they could handle a Europa League campaign next season.

Having taken part in last season's Europa League following their Capital One Cup triumph in 2013, Monk is fully aware of the extra burden of games and travel that playing in that competition brings.

"I don't want to stop anything that could be exciting for the club and the players," Monk said ahead of Monday night's league trip to Arsenal.

"I'm always pushing to win and finish as high as possible and if that takes us somewhere else so be it, but what comes with that is a lot of work in the summer.

"I've spoken about our small squad and (if Swansea were in Europe) perhaps the chairman would have to spend more money than he's willing to right now!

"I'm very mindful of that experience we had last season of being in there and how it affected us."
