Swansea City boss Garry Monk has told Bafetimbi Gomis he's going nowhere.
Gomis admitted he had spoken to clubs about a Liberty Stadium exit when appearing on French TV on Sunday.
Monk said: "If there is an important player for the club and we do not want them to leave, the power lies with the club.
"There has to be a balance. Players may want a move but the only way they can do that is to perform well for Swansea City and have the right attitude.
"Wilfried Bony is a perfect example. He may have thought he could move in the summer and it did not happen.
"But he did not sulk and he continued to play and train brilliantly. That is how it should be.
"Players may want to go to other clubs, but they have to do it first for us and any deal has to be in the best interests of Swansea City."
