Swansea City boss Garry Monk denies any role in the demise of Michael Laudrup last season.
There were some suggestions Laudrup's departure was at least in part down to his refusal to hand Monk a place on his coaching staff.
But the current Swans boss has rubbished those claims, insisting he was not a factor in Laudrup's axing.
He said: "The week developed with what happened between the club and Michael.
"What happened with me was the club then asked me to prepare the team and the rest is history.
"In terms of me taking a role, those were not the discussions I had. I remember it was mentioned in the media but it was never discussed.
"Why would Michael want to have someone who had been under him as a player become his coach in a matter of a split second? It was never a possibility."
