Swansea boss Laudrup won't guarantee Tiendalli contract

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup can't guarantee fullback Dwight Tiendalli earning a new deal.

Tiendalli was signed on a one-year contract as a free agent after the closure of the summer transfer window, Swans boss Laudrup prompted into action after the season-ending injury suffered by Neil Taylor.

Laudrup said: "Dwight's been important for us. Maybe he's had his best games at right back not at left because being a right footed left back is very different.

"But I have been pleased with his work. We brought him in to help Ben because my intention was not to put all the pressure on a young player knowing you have one player in one position. Ben has coped fantastically with it.

"But we will have to see (if he will get a new contract).

"We still have an issue here in the squad where we have to think that one thing is the quality of the players, the second is the economic part and the third is we have to deal - especially club like Swansea - the number of British players."
