Swansea boss Laudrup unhappy with transfer windows system

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup is unhappy by the length of the summer transfer window.

He discussed the matter at the recent Premier League managers' meeting in London, but conceded that reluctance on the continent means an alteration to the current situation is unlikely.

He said: "There are lots of rumours and they will continue to September 2. It's part of things and as long as the rules are like that we have to get on with it.

"I went to the managers' meeting and one of the questions was why we could not move transfer deadline? What is the reason to have it close after we start here and in Spain? The answer was that we should try to speak to the big leagues (in Spain, Italy and Germany), but they don't think there is a lot of interest in moving it.

"I cannot understand why not because every manager should be interested. When you play the first game, deadline closes. I don't think we can blame anyone here because I think the Premier League tried to do it but it's not possible."
