Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup says Garry Monk remains club captain, despite losing his first team place.

Laudrup has no intention of stripping the centre-back of the captaincy even though Ashley Williams will once again lead the team out against Aston Villa on Saturday.

"For me, while he is here, Garry will be the captain," Laudrup told the South Wales Evening Post.

"He is captain of the club and when he plays he will be captain of the team.

"But when he does not play, it's Ashley and so on."
