Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup admits he struggled to cope with the culture shock at Spartak Moscow.
The Dane had an ill-fated spell in charge of the Russian giants.
He told the South Wales Echo: "Looking back I should have researched more because the mentality and the culture was so different.
"I have a way of managing, I want to treat people well and make the decisions. We have to treat players like human beings and not just tell them what to do without any explanation.
"The philosophy is not the same over there and it ended very badly. They sacked me."
