Swansea City require at least four wins and as many as five to avoid relegation according to Francesco Guidolin.
The Welsh club currently sits 16th on the Premier League table with 27 points which has them in need of a further 13 points to remain safe.
Ahead of Saturday's visit of in-form Southampton, manager Guidolin has set a target for his side as they strive to remain in the top flight for at least another campaign.
"We need 40 points but I don't know when we will get there," he said.
"We have to see match by match and be concentrated for the next game.
"We must win four or five matches and that will not be easy in the Premier League.
"Working hard, from the players and staff, will see us arrive at 40 points, but I am only thinking about Southampton now because that is the priority."
