Swansea boss Clement: It's too early for relegation battle talk

Swansea City narrowly managed to avoid relegation from the Premier League last season after Paul Clement managed to guide the team to 13 points form their final five games.

Many have already touted the Welsh club to face another relegation battle this season following their unconvincing form thus far, however Clement has said that it is still too early to talk about the threat of having to avoid relegation.

The Swans currently lie in 18th position on the League standings after picking up five points from their opening several games.

He said: "It is much too early to say we are in a relegation battle."When I first arrived at the club (in January) they were writing us off, and when there were five games to go and it (relegation) was between us and Hull the pundits were saying 'Swansea are down'.

"But it made no difference to us, we knew what we had to do then and we know what we have to do now."
