Swansea boss Clement: Chelsea loanee Abraham going down pathway of Spurs star Kane

Swansea City manager Paul Clement claims that Tammy Abraham can follow in the footsteps of Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane.

Abraham has made a positive start to life at Swansea following his season long loan move to the Liberty Stadium from Chelsea over the summer.

And having seen the youngster impress, manager Paul Clement has backed the England U21 international to emulate Kane, who also spent time on loan before bursting onto the scene with Spurs.

Clement said: "What he has shown is that at every level he has scored goals but this is a new level. It is a big jump, he has gone from youth football, to under-23s and then to the Championship and done very well along the way.

"But this is the big step, isn't it? You're talking about playing against some of the best players in the world. He has confidence and a desire to improve, he is in a good place and he will contribute for us this season.

"He did not have much service against Tottenham, but he worked really hard for the team and did a lot of good defensive work in his own box at set-pieces too.

"I like Kane's story, about how he has had to graft hard to get to where he is. That he has had to go out on loan and work for the opportunity of where he is now.

"He is reaping the rewards for all that effort he has put in now and from my understanding he continues to do so every day in training. He is a great example for young players to follow."
