Swansea City have joined the battle for Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber.
The stopper, off contract in June, has attracted enquiries from Manchester City over the past week.
However, Swansea are also keen, where new manager Paul Clement has confirmed his interest.
"I have not decided on the centre-backs here, but you can take Badstuber as an example. He is a Germany international who has come through the ranks at Bayern, but he is not playing much at the moment and has players ahead of him," said Clement.
"You can think 'he could do a good job here' but then you see him linked with Manchester City so then you have to ask if he is a realistic target.
"That's the reality of where we are, but we can tap contacts to help us look elsewhere."
