Swansea City are making a £4 million bid for Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones.
The Telegraph says Swans boss Michael Laudrup has identified Jones as his prime target for this transfer window and is ready to step up his interest with an offer after the game with Everton on Saturday.
Swansea inquired about a loan deal for the Trinidad & Tobago international earlier this week but were told that Stoke would only be prepared to accept a permanent transfer.
