Barnsley centre-half Marc Roberts is a target for Swansea City.

The Sun says Swans boss Paul Clement has joined the chase for Barnsley's giant centre-half.

The Welsh club watched 6ft 4in Roberts yesterday and are set to meet the £5million asking price to pair him with old Tykes pal Alfie Mawson.

They signed Mawson last August and have now edged in front of Burnley and West Brom for Roberts, 26.

Both Sean Dyche and Tony Pulis are keen but happy to wait until summer, while Swansea want to move now.

As well as Roberts, the Swans also have the cash to do other deals as they try to beat the drop.
