Sven Mislintat: I'm taking Arsenal job to stay 10-12 years

New Arsenal scouting chief Sven Mislintat is ready to put down roots in London.

Mislintat is leaving Borussia Dortmund to take up the post at London Colney.

“I was born in Dortmund, I'm a Dortmund kid, I studied here," he told Kicker. “Of course I won't rule it out but I'm not leaving with the intention to return.

“I'm following my path to develop further and I want to keep learning.

“At Arsenal I want to do the very best job I can do. I'm excited for the challenge and can easily imagine myself at Arsenal, in London, for 10, 12 years as long as my family and I feel at home there."

Jens Lehmann was added to Arsene Wenger's coaching setup whilst club captain Per Mertesacker will take over the running of the academy when he retires at the end of the season.

Asked why the German school of thinking was becoming increasingly popular at the Emirates Mislintat said: “I don't know but I have nothing against it.

“The setup will definitely make communicating easier for me to begin with."
