Supersport United defender Jonathan Gould is on a two-week trial with English Championship club Crystal Palace.

The South Africa international linked up with Dougie Freedman and his Eagles squad on Tuesday and will now spend the next couple of weeks trying to impress the boss so he can win a contract.

Gould is still contracted at his homeland club but they have agreed a £500,000 fee with Palace and he now just hopes he can win himself a deal at Selhurst Park.

"I'm definitely very hopeful - coming here means a lot and now I want to show people what I am capable of," he told Sky Sports.

"Palace have shown a real interest in arranging for me to come over here for a trial so I'm just giving it my all and we will see what happens."
