Supermac fears dithering Newcastle will lose QPR's Remy

Newcastle United legend Malcolm Macdonald fears the club will lose on-loan QPR striker Loic Remy.

Supermac wrote in the Evening Chronicle: "Centre-forwards are the lifeblood of football but Newcastle may be gambling far too often for their own good.

"They did it with Demba Ba and lost so let's hope they do not lose again with Loic Remy.

"By allowing a clause in Ba's contract which meant he was available for only £7m they made it inevitable he would go once he started scoring goals regularly and, sure enough, he did to Chelsea.

"Now, having allowed QPR to outmuscle them on the financial front when they tried to sign Remy permanently, they are still vulnerable.

"Because with every goal Remy nets while on loan other clubs will be alerted to his availability."
