Super agent Mendes stopped Rojo from making Man Utd to Monaco move

Marcos Rojo was reportedly close to joining AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from the Daily Star, the Argentine defender was being used as a potential makeweight for teenage forward Anthony Martial.

It is believed that 25-year-old Rojo was wanted by the French club as they prepared for Martial to leave for Old Trafford in a £36million deal.

Louis van Gaal was annoyed that Rojo was unable to make United's pre-season tour of the USA and considered offloading him on deadline day.

However, super agent Jorge Mendes stepped in to stop any potential deal while he was in Manchester to negotiate David De Gea's potential move to Real Madrid.
