Sunil Gulati retains role as US Soccer chief

The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) has re-elected Sunil Gulati as its president.

Gulati, who has been US Soccer chief since 2006, was unanimously re-elected to a third term as president on Saturday.

The native of India, who has been involved in various levels of US Soccer for 30 years, was thrilled to retain his position at the top of the nation's soccer federation.

"I'm honored to be granted the opportunity to serve our membership as President of the US Soccer Federation," said Gulati in a statement released by the USSF.

"Over the years, soccer has made numerous strides in the US and we are excited by the sport's boundless potential for growth in the future. I'm looking forward to being part of soccer's bright future on all levels throughout the country."
