Sunderland fullback Ross Wallace is out for the season after damaging knee ligaments in training.

Manager Roy Keane confirmed that the 22-year-old will miss the rest of the campaign as his injury problems continue to mount.

The former Celtic player was one of the Irishman's first signings after being appointed in August 2006 and has made a major impact at the Stadium of Light.
