Sunderland midfielder Graham Kavanagh is keen to extend his stay at Sheffield Wednesday.

The 33-year-old Irishman joined the Owls on a one-month loan deal, which currently expires on October 21.

He has made four appearances for Brian Laws' troops so far this season, scoring in their 2-1 defeat to Watford, and is feeling the benefit of his first-team opportunity.

Kavanagh told Sunderland's official website: "I feel I'm getting stronger all the time and starting to stamp my influence on games.

"If Wednesday ask me to stay and Sunderland allow it then I'd like to stay because I've enjoyed it here."
