Sunderland's Etuhu: Robbery was nightmare

Sunderland midfielder Dickson Etuhu admits being robbed during his Nigeria debut in Mexico last week was a "nightmare".

The Nigerian international's debut was soured when the team hotel was burgled during a 2-2 draw with Mexico. Etuhu lost his wallet, cash, credit cards and driver's licence in Ciudad Juarez but claims the "nightmare" was nothing compared to being beaten 3-1 by a West Ham United team the Black Cats had outplayed in the second half on Sunday.

"I got my money taken and everything taken from my hotel room. Nightmare," Etuhu told The Journal. "The whole lot went. It doesn't matter now, everything is getting sorted. That's life sometimes and you just have to get on with it.

"Worse things can happen and in my eyes losing to West Ham was far worse. That's what matters to me now. Losing is not something I want to experience too often."
