Sunderland midfielder Dickson Etuhu insists their ladder position isn't a concern for him.
Etuhu, a £1.5million summer signing from Norwich, knows exactly how high the stakes are, but he is concentrating solely on each game and the points it could yield.
The 25-year-old said: "I could not tell you where we are in the table, that's how much I am interested. I am not even bothered. I do not even know where we are.
"I just want to take every game as it comes and try to win as many as we can and get as many points as we can.
"We have got to improve in every game and I think we are going to get better. We are going to get used to each other and build up an understanding.
"We have got a new team with loads of new players, so it will take time. But I am sure we will be fine."
Manager Roy Keane has already told Etuhu he needs to clean up his act if he is to avoid further bans, and while that is a lesson he has taken on board, he insists he will not change his game.
Asked about his five cautions, the player said: "I really cannot remember any of them - I just play football.
"But I really should not be missing games. It's bad for me and it's bad for the team.
"We need to have as many players available as we can on a Saturday and I felt I let down my team-mates a little.
"But that's football and I am going to have to try to change that. But I am not going to hold back from challenges.
"Liam Miller is a great player and he has done well when he has come in, and I am going to have to fight for a spot in the team, and I am looking forward to that."
