Sunderland's Diouf ran gauntlet of angry mob

Five Premiership stars had to run the gauntlet as a mob in Senegal turned on their own team.

Sunderland striker El Hadji Diouf, Stoke trio Abdoulaye Faye, Salif Diao and Ibrahima Sonko and Wigan frontman Henri Camara were targeted after Senegal crashed out of the World Cup on Saturday.

Diouf admitted: "This is a tragic end for the golden generation of Senegal players."

Coach Lamine Ndiaye said: "This is a complex country and if I talk about Saturday's events I risk getting done in."
