Sunderland striker Connor Wickham was delighted with his brace in victory over Cardiff City.

Wickham says Sunderland are showing real fighting spirit after he netted a brace to help his side out of the bottom three.

"It's a massive three points," Wickham told SAFSee after the Black Cats made it seven points from their last three games.

"The first goal was the most vital one of the game and I was in the right place at the right time to get something on it.

"It wasn't easy today, but we went out and did our jobs. Our performances over the last few weeks and again today have showed what we can do.

"We're creating chances, doing well and fighting and I think that showed today."
