Sunderland's loan offer for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma remains on the table.
The Journal says Sunderland football chief Lee Congerton registered their interest in defender Zouma - who has started pre-season with parent club Chelsea.
The young Frenchman is expected to be loaned to a Premier League club this season.
