England boss Fabio Capello is tracking Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson.

The Daily Mail says the midfielder, 19, has not even represented England at Under 21 level yet, having made one appearance for the Under 19 team.

But Henderson stood out in an extraordinary encounter with Manchester City on Saturday, scoring once and creating another goal in a match that ended in a 4-3 defeat for Steve Bruce's side.

Henderson, who can play on the right wing or more centrally, will have to maintain that level of performance to have any hope of breaking into Capello's squad before the World Cup next summer.
