Sunderland wrapping up deal for Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban

Sunderland are wrapping up a deal for Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban.

The Mirror says Grabban is heading to Sunderland on a season-long loan from Bournemouth.

The striker is due for a medical with the relegated north east club today.

Grabban re-joined Bournemouth for a second spell in January 2016 from Norwich in a £7 million deal.

But the 29-year-old striker has only made 18 league appearances since and was loaned out last season to ChampionshipReading.

Grabban is set to be manager Simon Grayson's fifth signing following Aiden McGeady, James Vaughan, Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning.

Leipzig had already been monitoring several potential replacements and were keen to bring in a new playmaker in the coming weeks.
