Sunderland are close to signing Panathinaikos winger Charis Mavrias.

The Sun says Mavrias, 19, is set to arrive on Wearside in the next 24 hours to complete a medical and finalise terms on an incentive-based £1.25m move from Panathinaikos, which could rise to double that amount.

The youngster will become manager Paolo di Canio's tenth summer signing.
