Stephane Sessegnon admits he wants to justify his huge price-tag at Sunderland.
The 26-year-old joined Sunderland from PSG for around £6m in January after being identified as a priority target by manager Steve Bruce and his scouting team.
Asked if his price tag brought with it a certain pressure, Sessegnon told safc.com: "Yes, but it's a positive pressure.
"It's true, the club have made a great financial effort to get me to come here and so I owe the club.
"When you are bought at that price, of course you can't disappoint, you've got to show that you deserved that price.
"It's a satisfaction to know I was bought for six million euros and now I have to show that the club was right to do so."
