Adam Johnson has no regrets over his move to Sunderland.
Two years on from quitting Manchester City, he has not played for England.
"Yeah, you sometimes look back and have it at the back of your mind," he told the Daily Mail.
"If people say they don't think about what might have been, then I think they're lying.
"You see the players that they're still buying and the big stadiums they're playing at in the Champions League, especially when you're sat there watching them on TV.
"But when I think back at how much I wanted to leave when I was there, I realise I made the decision for the best."
