Sunderland whizkid Joel Asoro has been nominated for the prestigious European Golden Boy award.

The contest is run by Italian publication Tuttosport, with the winner voted for by journalists across Europe.

The award is given to the young player deemed to have made the biggest impact over the past year.

Asoro has impressed in the U23 set up with his searing pace, making his senior debut during the 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough earlier in the season.
